Pennant Training Systems Limited (Pennant) has been awarded two Support Contracts for training devices located at the Defence College of Aeronautical Engineering (DCAE) Cosford, RAFC Cranwell, RAF Henlow and RAF Brize Norton.
In-service with the RAF at DCAE Cosford the Cockpit Pressurisation Trainer, Pressure Refuelling Trainer and the Gaseous Oxygen Trainer will allow trainee aircraft mechanics and technicians to practice their skills on synthetic training devices in a safe but realistic environment.
Located at RAFC Cranwell, the Generic Air Load Master Trainer is a representation of an aircraft fuselage and is used for training RAF Aircrew in the practical aspects of cargo loading.
In-service at RAF Brize Norton the Flight Load Simulators supports a range of courses including the Movement Operators Course, providing basic recruits with practical training in Movements operations.
The Eurofighter (Typhoon) Cockpit Mock-Up is in-service at RAF Henlow is used for the preliminary appraisal of anthropometric acceptability modifications for front line operational support.
Managed by the Flight Simulators and Synthetic Trainers (FsAST) Integrated Project Team (IPT). The training devices will be supported, initially for a three (3) years with an option for a further one (1) year.
